Kim Kardashian’s Newfound Modesty

Everyone’s an art critic, apparently even Kim Kardashian, who stripped down to her money-makers and some silver paint to headline W’s eyebrow-raising Art Issue back in November. No stranger to over-exposure, Kim’s edgy shoot seemed like a walk in the park, as she’s bared much more for less high-brow publications—think Playboy. But on the last episode of Kim and Kourtney Take New York, Kim was pretty miffed over the photos, going as far as to claim: “Oh my God, I’m more naked that I was in Playboy. [The magazine] promised I would be covered with artwork—you can see the nipples!” Apparently, a little wayward boob action escaped Barbara Kruger’s strategic text installation, which did manage to take over a large section of the Whitney Museum, but strained to cover Kim’s ample assets.

We find Kim’s newfound modesty quite touching. Perhaps she’s turning a new fig leaf. And who are we to judge the artful lives of others? For their part, W stands by the images, stressing it was all part of the artistic collaboration. Perhaps Kim needs a few art history lessons.
