Balenciaga and Paris Vogue Air-Kiss and Make Up

Word on the street is Paris Vogue’s new guard might be looking to get a diplomatic new start. And top of the list is reconnecting with Balenciaga, their once cozy bedfellow that unceremoniously banned the magazine from its fashion show last season for reasons that remain unclear (culprits ranged from styling decisions to break up full runway looks, to Carine Roitfeld’s rumored consulting gigs on the side). Whatever the case, gone were the days when Carine would premiere looks before they even hit the runway. But Paris Vogue without Balenciaga is like an eclaire without its filling. As a gesture of reparation, Emmanuelle Alt’s first cover, the big March issue, will feature Nicolas Ghesquière’s current muse, Gisele Bundchen, in head-to-toe Balenciaga. And lithe Nicolas was spotted last week being chummy with none other than Carine herself. Now if we could just figure out what all the fuss was about in the first place.
