Rodarte’s love affair with Tinseltown continues. Next up for the crafty duo: their West Coast museum debut. Ringmaster extraordinaire Jeffrey Deitch has enlisted the sister team to exhibit at MOCA’s Pacific Design Center, a once-sleepy annex reignited during Deitch’s short tenure. This follows blockbuster showings by arty hunk James Franco and new-media wunderkind Ryan Trecartin. The solo show, titled Rodarte: States of Matter, will feature selections from their spring 2010, fall 2010 and fall 2008 collections, as well as their ballet costumes for Black Swan. Far from the usual lineup of mannequins, the show promises interactive vignettes, which hopefully means we can live out our prima ballerina fantasies in a museum setting.
