Hooked: Viktor & Rolf
Magic can happen in the unlikeliest of places. Like Viktor & Rolf’s spring collection, for example. In a show where pinstriped men’s shirting was blown out into a wedding gown, then anything was possible. And if you were mesmerized by that bit of wizardry, you might have missed another. Over models’ shoulders were slung, nonchalantly, the duo’s latest bags, Just in Case. Inspired by the classic suitcase and adorned with little metal corners, the bags pretend to be all prim and proper, like all things Viktor & Rolf, but they’re actually a little cushy and slouchy, promising not to dig in to any body parts while schlepping around. Styles include the small, made-for-evening Compact Case, the medium-sized Just in Case, and the hefty Day Tripper version, all made from natural-grain calfskin in black, aqua, pale pink or rich brown. You might even find some models with sequins—just in case. $1070-1335 at Viktor & Rolf and select boutiques.
