Who’ll Fill Carine Roitfeld’s Shoes?

Raccoon eyes around the globe are undoubtedly shedding tears over Carine Roitfeld’s departure from French Vogue. Now, naturally, the thought on everyone’s mind is: Who will take over? Just a few hours after the announcement, the rumor mill is already in overdrive speculating on the editrix who might be up to the task of filling Carine’s sexy, now legendary, stilettos.

Of course, the real answer is no one, but since shuttering the magazine in an eternal memorial is not an option, we’re weighing in on the top contenders. The Telegraph’s Hilary Alexander gathers up the most festive round-up, which runs the gamut from the expected (Anna Dello Russo, though her disdain for daywear might prove problematic), to the strange (we love Grace Coddington, but highly doubt she’ll be hopping back over the pond any time soon) to the wondrously left-field (Hedi Slimane, really?).

Our money is with the current odds-on favorite, the luxuriously deshabille Emmanuelle Alt, Carine’s right-hand woman throughout her decade-long reign. Always sporting impossibly glamorous bed-head and matching outfits, she’s practically hand-groomed for the job.
