Hooked: Viktor & Rolf

This season, Viktor & Rolf gained inspiration from the traditional suitcase and, in true designer form, transformed the classic shape into their key accessory of the Spring/Summer 2011 season, the “Just in Case” bag.

Shown in their Main and Show SS11 collections, this chic utilitarian bag is equally functional and luxurious. Executed in a variety of materials and colors, the style can be worn with both casual daytime looks and formal attire. The bags are made of buttery natural-grain calf skin in rich brown, black, fresh aqua and soft pale pink. The bags are available in three sizes: the clutch-like “Compact Case”, the medium-sized “Just in Case” and the large shopper “Day Tripper Case”.

From the SS11 Show Collection, the Zebra series is bolder and more exuberant as compared to the subtler solids.  Using a combination of black and white zebra sequins, the series is offered in evening-appropriate “Compact Case” and functional “Just in Case” styles.

Each style is embellished with solid metal corners, serving as protective edges and providing a bold contrast to the soft leathers. Each bag also includes a detachable shoulder strap and sturdy top handles.

Prices range from $1070 to $1335 and will be available in top fashion boutiques worldwide beginning Winter 2010.
