…the mental picture we have of artist David Hockney sitting down with his iPad and whirling, swishing, zigzagging his septuagenarian fingers all over it to create the bright, Miró-like flowers currently on view at Fondation Pierre Bergé Yves Saint Laurent. The exhibition (through January 2011) features 250 such pixelated bouquets, which he originally created on his iPhone in 2008 for the purpose of emailing friends, and which he continues to email to the Foundation for the duration of the show. Can you imagine what he could do with Hipstamatic?
