Following recent high-profile acts such as Haider Ackermann and Proenza Schouler, Italian trade show Pitti Uomo keeps upping the ante, this time pulling in celebrated goth poster boy Gareth Pugh as their newest guest designer. And so, in Florence this January, the young Brit who’s already coming off a string of successes will present his women’s collection in the influential fair’s newish women’s division, Pitti W.

What can you look forward to? More adventures in multimedia sci-fi from Pugh, who’s caused a bit of controversy in the fashion world by opting out of the usual runway staging. But at Pitti, bigger is better, so we anticipate a leap in scale and ambition, transforming his vision into a throughly immersive experience. We’re thinking something along the lines of Hellraiser, but with more separates.
