The Story: Rodolfo Paglialunga is Vionnet’s new designer, after 13 years as Miuccia Prada’s assistant. For spring, he combined Art Deco inspiration and exotic travels.
We Swooned Over squares of écru and black silk chiffon lashed together with leather and chain, as well as strips of jersey weaved through an oversized resin chain, et voilà: a cool summer dress. Lots of them, in fact.
Designer Quote: “It looks like a lot of black and white, but it’s really about contrasts.” On another dress, a fluid top meets a “coffee bag” raw silk skirt and ends in feathers.
Random Bits: The gold stars on leather belts and headbands come from the archives, but Paglialunga pulls them back down to earth with rope climber’s cord.
