The Story: For the last three seasons, designer Guillaume Henry has breathed new life in the 70-year-old French house of Carven. His concept for spring? Classics student gets lost in the halls of the Louvre. Which means a little structure from ancient Greece, a little bling from Egypt… you get the idea.

We Swooned Over a sculpted terra cotta buffalo leather jacket and a short shift dress printed with the Acropolis, its columns apparently lifted straight out of a 19th-century etching.

Designer Quote: “It’s about travel without getting too literal, built on nerdy collegiate chic with proper tailoring.”

Random Bits: Black stilettos with floppy bows in the back were très parisienne, while short, shirred numbers in a midnight-blue or beige tech fabric should appeal to the clubby set.
