Creative Difference at Prada?

Critics may be going bananas for Miuccia’s ode to all things tropical and Technicolor in her infectious Latin-flavored spring collection, but apparently not everything is coming up neon roses. Rumors have surfaced that Prada’s financial powers-that-be aren’t as pleased with the offering, citing reservations with the festive yet difficult color palette. True, haz-mat orange isn’t the easiest color to wear. But Prada is denying the rumors, according to today’s WWD. Word on the street, however, is that some buying appointments with American retailers have been canceled, with promises of an “enhanced” presentation in New York at the end of October. This reads as slightly suspicious, to say the least. We only hope the collection’s radiation meter doesn’t get dialed down.
