Courtney Love Wants a Byline In The New Yorker
In a move destined to rock the literary cognoscenti (we kid), Courtney Love has revealed her non-tabloid intentions for print immortality. Earlier this week, the chanteuse, thespian, and prolific style blogger told New York Magazine she’s looking to broaden her writer-ly horizons beyond semi-coherent tweets. “I have to get it together and finish this damn [short] story that The New Yorker, by the way, does not know is coming,” Love explained, adding, “they may reject me, I don’t know…I want to be published. It’s time—I’m 46.” Deciphering Love’s blog and Twitter missives already takes an ungodly amount of patience, plus a stiff drink or three, so we can only imagine what it would be like trying to edit something long-form. Heaven help the soul who has to do that.
