Lots of Sneakiness Went Down at Tom Ford’s Presentation
For being, arguably, the most exclusive fashion gathering in town this week, Tom Ford’s presentation of his new women’s line might have also been a little lax on the security front. Mingling (briefly) that evening among the likes of Daphne Guinness, Beyoncé, and Karen Elson were three women most definitely not on Tom’s tight list. Garbed in Gothic Lolita gear, the Japanese trio gained entrée to Ford’s Madison Avenue store after one claimed to be Japanese Vogue editor Mitsuko Watanabe, who, incidentally, had already arrived. The Harajuku poseurs were quickly kicked to the curb, but they weren’t the only ones being sneaky. Headshots of Ford’s presentation models, including Amber Valletta, Julianne Moore and Daria Werbowy have now surfaced online, though officially only Terry Richardson was supposed to be snapping that night. Rumor has it Richardson will use his images for an upcoming editorial in French Vogue—to be guest-edited by Tom Ford, natch.
