Ohne Titel
With each collection, Ohne Titel’s indie profile gets progressively higher. Judging by the crowd at their spring show, designers Flora Gil and Alexa Adams are drawing some prominent peeps in the biz, along with the those hip to the label from the get-go. Furthermore, a collaboration with Six Scents is underway, and fall sees the debut of a line of handbags.
For spring, Gil and Adams enlisted artist Tauba Auerbach to create the collection’s Lucite and enamel geometric jewelry, while they themselves sought sartorial inspiration from woodblock artist Utagawa Kuniyoshi. Working in a predominantly navy, black and white palette, the duo rolled out a series of slick neoprene bodysuits and cropped shells, paired with belted pants and pleated skirts. Gil and Adams modified Kuniyoshi’s linear shapes, fashioning layered, color-blocked silhouettes that called to mind an elegant Japanese speedracer.
