Hailing from Shanghai, Chinese charmer Ming Xi (or 奚梦瑶, if you want to be technical about it) is one of the buzziest models in recent memory. A finalist in the Elite Model Look, she exploded when she walked for Givenchy Couture in late 2009. That led to an outrageously impressive European runway resume (a visa problem prevented her from starting with New York) that included Christian Dior, John Galliano, Akris, Vivienne Westwood, Hakaan, Jil Sander, Emilio Pucci and Ungaro—and, once again, Givenchy. This season will no doubt be even more impressive. Ming can also be seen leaning in for a Sapphic kiss in the last Givenchy campaign, shot by Mert and Marcus. On the editorial front, expect to see her in the Chinese editions of Vogue and Elle, as well as Dansk and Love magazines. It’s Ming’s Dynasty, we just live in it. (Ford)
