Finally, Lanvin Collaborates with H&M

Carolina Herrera? Thomas Maier? Alber Elbaz? In the last couple of days, a wild guessing game has held the fashion world spellbound as H&M posted videos on YouTube with anonymous voices making Vreeland-worthy quips, such as “Smart women are so beautiful” and “The future of fashion is going to be very extreme. I believe in very high, I believe in very low.”

These were actually clues to today’s surprise announcement, that the very Parisian house of Lanvin is H&M’s latest collaborator. The limited-edition line will include both womenswear and menswear, as well as accessories, to be unveiled November 2 and made available November 20 (in North America, a few days later for the rest of the world).

“I think that I loved the idea that H&M was going luxury rather than Lanvin is going public,” says Alber Elbaz in the new video. We doubt the line will really be luxury—or rather, have luxury prices—but it’s a nice thought nevertheless. We think Diana would have approved.
