Clearly not a believer in spare time, Karl Lagerfeld has managed to foster an enviable and extensive photographic career alongside his legendary exploits in fashion. His voracious creative appetite is almost a force of nature. Come September, la Maison Européenne de la Photographie in Paris will take a look at the Kaiser’s photographic oeuvre, culling imagery mostly from his numerous book projects. We’re particularly titillated by the extensive selection from his notable muses, namely Baptiste Giabiconi’s scantily clad artistic turmoil in The Beauty of Violence and Brad Koenig’s fashion journey in Metamorphoses of an American. The exhibition will also feature selections from Chanel’s Russian Connection, and projects from his publishing house, 7L, which has fastidiously produced numerous tomes with high-profile collaborators. Yet another reason to look forward to September.
