More from Vanity Fair’s Interview with Lady Gaga

Vanity Fair’s September issue doesn’t hit newsstands till Thursday, but in the meantime, vf.com has given us a sneak peek of its interview with silver-streaked cover girl, Lady Gaga. In it, the singer, who claims perpetual loneliness and mistrust of just about everyone, cops to dabbling in drugs once and eventually hitting rock bottom. An intervention from Mama Germanotta led the mother/daughter duo to West Virginia to see Gaga’s granny, who told her, “You’re gonna stop crying, you’re gonna pick yourself up, you’re gonna go back to New York, and you’re gonna kick some ass.” That she did, but the road has been rough—especially on the romantic front. “I have this weird thing that if I sleep with someone they’re going to take my creativity from me through my vagina,” she explains. Here’s hoping, for the sake of future catchy pop ditties, the singer stays (mostly) celibate.
