Valentino Closes Couture with a Pug

While Paris baked like a Christmas ham yesterday, perma-roasted Valentino Garavani and friends retired to the couturier’s 17th-century Louis VIII chateau, Wildville, to celebrate the launch of Valentino’s archives. Guests including Anna Wintour, Marc Jacobs, Alice Dellal and Gwyneth Paltrow prowled the expansive, 200+ acre grounds just outside the city, replete with moat and um, boatman.

Dinner, meanwhile, for those who actually ate, was served in a giant, topiary-framed tent, as hundreds of candles illuminated the cobblestone paths and pink-tinted spotlights lit up the mansion. Amid the high-watt celebs, dimmer bulb Jesus Luz was there to DJ, sans his on-again-off-again Material MILF. We’re pretty sure that, when they weren’t being scooped up to mug for the cameras, at least one of Valentino’s pugs kept the boy toy and his MacBook company.
