Reality TV swan Austin Scarlett will play the Thelma to fellow Project Runway alum Santino Rice’s Louise on a new Lifetime travel show debuting July 29. On the Road with Austin & Santino will follow the duo as they make the big city dreams of small town gals come true, creating “looks for special women in unique situations as they celebrate such life milestones as anniversaries, birthdays, balls, graduations and bachelorette parties,” Lifetime says. Anticipate drama as the boys clash over taffeta, tulle and truck drivers. Some of Austin and Santino’s Eliza Doolittles might also be butchies, if we’re to believe a military officer and, um, a rodeo-trick rider will make appearances. Given Austin’s experience with Dynasty-worthy formalwear—to say nothing of Santino’s Drag Race judge tenure—we’re sure these two will have no problems femme-ing it up.
