Nadja Auermann Was the Leggiest Supermodel of All

Memorably glimpsed strutting the catwalk as a naughty nurse in Louis Vuitton’s spring 2008 collection, 39-year-old German supe Nadja Auermann recently spoke to the Guardian on life, pre- and post-retirement. Here’s a recap. She singled out Steven Meisel and Karl Lagerfeld as especially fabulous, as was the trouser-loving model’s style icon, Mlle. Chanel. Beyond starring in George Michael’s epic mannequin opus, Too Funky, Auermann has also appeared in a couple of German films and launched an eponymous fragrance. Mostly though, she’s a mom running around in jeans and tees, only occasionally hearkening back to those halcyon Versace days. It was around this time that she was featured in the Guinness Book of World Records as the model with the longest legs (44 inches!), which, as a little one, were likely clad in bell bottoms. “I’ve always loved Abba, so that suited me just fine,” Auermann recalled. “I spent my childhood dressed like Agnetha.”
