Alexander Wang Finds a Home
Alexander Wang is movin’ on up, topping off Monday’s CFDA Award win with another trophy coup in the form of a deluxe Tribeca apartment, reports the NY Observer. And at $2 million, the designer’s new digs feature some pretty posh amenities: exposed brick, mullioned windows, original tin ceilings and a chef’s kitchen chockfull of high-end stainless steel appliances. The pad, once home to New York Times Style editor Holly Brubach, comes with fashionable provenance, yet one culturally removed from his former hood and professed source of inspiration, the Lower East Side. Even as a student, Wang was never stuck cramped in a one-bedroom with two roomies. Last September, his first apartment, purchased while a sophomore at Parsons, sold for a cool $750,000.
