A demure Sally Singer had her own reason to celebrate at last night’s CFDA Fashion Awards. Vogue’s Fashion News and Features Director was named Stefano Tonchi’s successor at T, whose departure for W spurred the momentous game of editorial musical chairs. The announcement this morning comes after much speculation, much of it swirling around some of the more flamboyant members of the Vogue staff. Polished and restrained, Singer brings the perfect pedigree to the magazine. Big congrats to Singer, though it’s not all glamour at the top. Apparently the upgrade in title comes with a downscale in paycheck. Boo.
