Now that both Chanel and Dior have officially gotten the Cruise party started in exotic locales, complete with A-list celebs and short films, you’d think YSL would be looking to up the ante with its latest offering. Or not. Following Stefano Pilati’s no-show last month at the YSL-sponsored Armida premiere at the Metropolitan Opera, company flacks said the designer was simply busy at work on his next collection, to be shown in New York. And guess what, they were right. On June 3, YSL will show its pre-spring wares in one of the rooms of the Consulate General of France on the Upper East Side. While we were hoping for an Ibiza extravaganza with RuPaul in a strawberry-print skirt emcee-ing the models’ walks for a future episode of Drag Race, this will do nicely.
