We’re J’Loving…
Rupert Sanderson’s fantastic sculptural sandals in Aida, Guiseppe Verdi’s opera currently showing at the Royal Opera House in London. The gold-leaf wedges were made to appear as if princess Amneris is standing on, or rather, held up by two Atlas characters. Talk about standing on the shoulders of giants. When Rupert’s not whipping up shoe art for the opera, he can be found designing the footwear for Karl Lagerfeld’s main line—a feat for the feet!
