Rick Owens Makes His Bed

Where some designers might begin to lose their edge, Rick Owens goes sharper, heavier, harder. Take, for example, the alabaster bed he’s having made—”a cross between sleeping beauty’s glass coffin and christ’s empty tomb,” he tells us—for an upcoming solo furniture show in New York. It doesn’t end there; besides the white slab of a showpiece, a marble daybed, chairs with antlers and other anti-furnishings will also go on view. These photos Rick sent us of him and Michele Lamy at the marble sculptor’s are all the evidence we need that our mind is going to be blown.
