After-Parties at the Brooklyn and the New Museum

On Thursday night, two venerable New York institutions will be getting their exhibition pre-game on following fancy fêtes. First up: the Brooklyn Museum, which celebrates its forthcoming exhibition, American High Style: Fashioning a New Collection, with a preview-cum-shindig featuring “designer novelties” from the likes of Rodarte and Patrik Ervell, plus a dessert-stuffed piñata and DJ sets from Nate Lowman and Leo Fitzpatrick, co-chaired by Opening Ceremony’s Carol Lim and Humberto Leon.

And when your tootsies get worn out from all that trekking, too bad. In a nod to its forthcoming Rivane Neuenschwander exhibit, the New Museum‘s Interview-sponsored Spring Gala After Party is Brazilian-themed this year, complete with boardwalks, caipirinhas and expat DJs Forro in the Dark. We fully expect West Village-by-way-of-São Paulo event chair Lorenzo Martone adhering to the party’s “anything but black” dress code.
