Frontrunner for Ungaro: Giles Deacon

The unraveling of Ungaro continues, now that Estrella Archs has exited the label due to “irreconcilable differences.” We suspect she had a hard time finding someone with LiLo’s keen insights on pasties and leggings. This leaves an empty seat at the helm of the troubled house, which has had a hard time finding its footing ever since Esteban Cortazar left in a huff. Rumors are already swirling about possible successors (thankfully one of them is not Ali Lohan, though she was making a serious effort running around Coachella in sheer Alexander Wang). The apparent frontrunner is Giles Deacon, who was spotted lunching with Ungaro owner Asim Abdullah. It might be a stretch to bring his tailored, tight, sober vision to a house known for swirly flower prints and misguided consulting choices, but then again, maybe a stunt in rehab is just what Ungaro needs.
