It’ll be decal mania this May, when the Whitney launches a series of large-scale works on the site of its future downtown building (at Gansevoort and Washington). The museum has invited three artists—the team of GuytonWalker, Tauba Auerbach and Barbara Kruger—to produce vinyl decals (of fun, bright, summery things like fruits and flowers) that will dot the fence around the construction site and random things inside, thus, they say, creating a kind of 21st-century mural.
