At last, we can officially end our mourning for the Beatrice Inn, New York’s late-night den of high-powered, exclusive iniquity. Sure, we love the Kenmare and Jane, but our hearts have been wistful for that little cavernous dance floor where on any given night—usually post-gala—you could shake your groove thing next to the likes of Kirsten Dunst and Keira Knightley. Now, having just been approved for a cabaret license, Andre Balazs’ Boom Boom Room at the Standard is in the running to take the torch, which means those carpeted nooks could soon be a disco inferno. We’re already looking forward to upcoming antics, and hope that whatever they are, Courtney Love will be there with a full dance card.
