We’re J’Loving…

Xavier Dolan, who’s proving that young prodigies can have more talents than wearing funny hats and scoring front row at fashion shows. At only 21, the Montreal native (and former child star of both TV and film) is already leaving his cinematic mark with his new coming-of-age feature, I Killed My Mother, which he wrote, directed, starred in and financed while most of his peers were busy getting bored with Gossip Girl. The film, coming soon to an art house near you, is like a gay 400 Blows (pun intended), earning numerous awards and standing ovations at Cannes last year and which just finished screening at MoMA’s New Directors/New Films festival. Not a bad start for the cherubic wunderkind. Oh, and Xavier is crushingly cute—one more reason he’s one to watch.
