Hint Tip: Gucci
Seeing how something is made can sometimes be a little stomach-turning. Hello, sausage. But in the hands of Gucci, the experience approaches bliss. All this year, the hallowed house’s most skilled artisans will visit select Gucci stores around the world, including four in the U.S., and set up two-day-long workshops, where they’ll assemble some of Gucci’s most iconic bags for all to see. Called Artisan Corner, the idea is to demonstrate to customers just how intricate and time-honored the process of making leather-goods is—stitching handles, assembling bamboo tassels, weaving leather, hand-embossing. It’s how Gucci has been doing it since 1921.
