BOY Screening
The National Arts Club in Gramercy Park was already one of our favorite posh fuddy-duddy places to prance around in before last night, when it became the first venue in New York with the guts to screen BOY. The feature-length mockumentary from SSION’s glamour-punk frontman Cody Critcheloe weaves spastic music videos from the last few years into a loose narrative of fame grabs, visions of grandeur and hallucinations of oppression only a teenager can conjure up. While loitering outside for no good reason, we overheard one cutie tell an excited compadre that it was about time the film got here. Welcome to four years ago, NYC.
