Suffice it to say this wouldn’t have been Hillary back in the day. Tomorrow, Phillips de Pury in London will put a 1992 Helmut Newton portrait of French First Lady Carla Bruni-Sarkozy on the block as part of its Sex auction, which will also include works from Spencer Tunick, Ryan McGinley and Nan Goldin. The shot in question features a then 24-year-old Mlle Bruni in a state of déshabillée flashing her perky posterior and is expected to fetch at least $7,500. Granted, that figure pales in comparison to the $91K an anonymous Chinese collector paid two years ago for a 1993 Marcel Comte nude in which the former supe demurely covers only her most private of lady parts.
