With our dreams of a Gaga-Donatella collab officially dashed (Versace reps gave that one a big hell-to-the-no), at least we have more Haus of Gaga couture to look forward to. Last Wednesday Gags tweeted that she’d be donning a “living dress” inspired by Hussein Chalayan for the Liverpool leg of her Monster Ball tour. The confection (pictured here) brings to mind Ice Capades Barbie-meets-Bob Mackie, featuring a moving headpiece and frilly tiers Dolly Parton would don were she skating in Vancouver this year. Maybe not the most outré of Gaga garb we’ve glimpsed thus far, but definitely a step towards the “mermaid-tailed Oscar gowns trailed by actual mermaids” look we predicted.
