In a fitting precursor to London Fashion Week, milliner extraordinaire and friend-of-Hint Stephen Jones collected an O.B.E. (Order of the British Empire) from her Majesty the Queen, in recognition of his services to English millinery. In his speech, he thanked colleagues and clients who, like him, “believe that a wonderful hat adds the exclamation mark to every fashion statement.” Jones tells us, for the occasion, he ditched his own handiwork in favor of his grandfather’s top hat, which he paired with a pearl-tie pin by Dinny Hall, a fob chain by Miles Chapman and a bespoke morning suit from Savile Row tailors Gieves & Hawkes. Mother Jones came out in Dior cruise, V&A co-curator Oriole Cullen in Galliano and partner Craig West in Paul Smith. Exclamation points courtesy of Jones.
