Peter Jensen

London-based Danish designer Peter Jensen turned Anglophile for fall, dubbing his latest collection “Muriel” in homage to author Muriel Sparks’ seminal schoolgirl novel The Prime of Miss Jean Brodie. Models paraded against a painted building backdrop donning denim wrap miniskirts, tartan velvet bloomers and sparkly sweaters with teensy wool flannel kilts. Ankle socks were paired with primary-colored, low-heeled pumps, lending the not-a-girl-not-yet-a-woman collection its requisite dash of Lolita. A see-through night gown escaped jail-bait territory when worn over a black slip dress. Though one little minx came out in just a jumper and knickers, another outfit took the cake: a skinny jean in a palace-guard print with matching blouse and pom-pom turban. Let’s just say Jensen had us at attention.
