Interview’s 40th Anniversary Party

You know it’s a party when a dude nonchalantly takes off his high-heeled red shoes and puts them on the bar. Like most of last night’s guests at Interview‘s 40th Anniversary celebration underneath the Hudson Hotel, our little RuPaul wannabe was gussied up in his Sunday best, which also included a Rock of Love-length denim mini-skirt and oversized shades. Yet others in attendance were even bolder and more beautiful: Naomi Campbell, Daphne Guinness and Lazaro Hernandez all made the rounds, posing in front of the Interview-approved mag-plastered subterranean party walls of Good Units, formerly a YMCA. In a bid to out-diva the divas, past cover queens Joan Collins and Diane von Furstenberg pouted seductively on video loops. We caught up with Surface to Air’s Gordon Hull, who dished on his new Paris store and plans for his first feature-length film, Diablos de Amor—a Paris-by-way-of-North Africa early-60s vampire biker flick. Sounds like something we could sink our teeth into.
