Paris Men’s Week: Dries Van Noten
The Belgian’s show at Palais Brogniart, the Paris stock exchange, was about as bullish at it gets. Not far from perfection, his classy-but-cool vision for fall featured a mix of multi-striped suits, long-johns worn with short tailored blazers, amazing brogue shoes and oversized outerwear in chic tones of blue, gray, khaki and beige that will pay dividends day or night. Van Noten’s menswear collections are always bon ton, but where they sometimes veer toward bourgeois, this time he nailed it. A recession-buster, for sure.
