House Brand
Now that we’ve officially glimpsed the ubiquitous double-C logo on everything from tennis rackets to transfer tattoos, perhaps it’s time to kick it up a notch, no? Enter Ryan McSorley, a Central Saint Martins student and creator of Skin by Chanel, a “beauty kit” comprised of moisturizer, cleanser and toner. But here’s where it gets interesting. While we’ve admittedly woken up more than a few times with last night’s excesses writ large across our faces, the branding was always metaphorical. Not so for would-be aficionados of McSorley’s cheeky box set, which, while only a prototype so far, includes a headband with a silicone logo on its underside, made to be worn overnight. In the morning, the wearer is left with a Chanel imprint on her forehead. Sounds like the kind of Scarlet Letter we could get into.
