Queening Out
Hats off to milliner extraordinaire Stephen Jones, who rang in the New Year in true royal style with a spot on the Queen’s Honours List for 2010 for his dashing contributions to fashion. From one queen to another, the well-deserved recognition comes on the heels of a stellar year for Jones, which also included a major exhibition at the Victoria & Albert museum, as well as his usual prolific string of inspired creations for the likes of John Galliano and Vivienne Westwood. So it’s true, the Brits love their headgear as much as their royalty! Other honorees include philanthropist Amanda Wakeley and Luella Bartley, whose much-mourned Luella label may get a second life from the royal decree. We hope.
