It’s Bananas!
Where other labels pay lip service to good causes, Gucci has been expanding its work with the children’s advocacy group UNICEF since 2005, when it began a campaign in support of orphans affected by HIV/AIDS in sub-Saharan Africa. Of course Gucci’s Frida Giannini has been in on the philanthropy all these years, most recently commissioning Vanity Fair fashion director and illustrator Michael Roberts to create a children’s book. The result, Snowman in Africa, can be found exclusively in Gucci stores and on Gucci.com through the end of the year, with 100% of the $25 retail price going toward UNICEF. But even a charity needs a party, and even a children’s book needs a signing, both of which happen November 24, 6-8 pm, 725 Fifth Avenue.
