The Queen and the Tween
A car park, a catwalk and a 13-year-old chanteuse. These were the motley ingredients of Vivienne Westwood’s latest endeavor, a fashion show to launch the Anglomania space in Selfridges. Over 500 guests clambered into the Selfridges parking lot to catch a glimpse of Westwood’s younger, second line and of course namecheck the front row, which included Tracey Emin, Jake Chapman, Sadie Frost, Westwood’s hubby Andreas Kronthaler, Julia Restoin-Roitfeld, Little Boots, Shingai Shoniwa (of The Noisettes) and Florence Walsh (of Florence and the Machine). Dame Viv herself sat front and center, casually sipping a mini-bottle of Pop champagne and marveling at the killer pipes of Dionne Bromfield, goddaughter of Amy Winehouse, as she sang Mama Said and Foolish Little Girl—another tween shutting it down.
