Nina Ricci
Nina Ricci is, and has always been, about L’Air du Temps, the most romantic perfume of all time. So much so that when its owners at Puig hired Olivier Theyskens as the creative director of the brand several years ago, ostensibly to lend it fashion credibility, the mission was in fact to ignite sales of the fragrance in the North American market, the only continent supporting the Belgian designer. Mission accomplished; buh-bye, Olivier. Which isn’t to say Peter Copping’s debut outing for spring was disappointing. It wasn’t. The way he layered fabrics was quite Vuittonesque (he’s a former assistant of Marc Jacobs), but the overall result was…very pretty. The lingerie-like pieces adorned with delicate lace were absolutely delicious. Maybe a little obvious, but absolutely delicious.
