Bless
German label Bless presented its spring collection in the dungeon underbelly of the Paris art enclave Le 104, where the concrete walls and floors felt more off-the-books boxing gym than fashion playground. Which is exactly what the duo wanted. Impervious to spring cheer, the collection’s muted color palette consisted of Sahara beige, slate gray and scuffed navy, with jolting highlighter yellow thrown in. Squads of models enacted a hybrid of performance art and gymnastics, including, yes, pyramid formations. The clothes lent themselves well to the motion; pants were slouchy like a gas station attendant’s while blazers slashed at the chest were as roomy as ponchos. Deliciously weird, deliciously Bless, and it sure beat watching models shift uncomfortably from foot to foot.
