Just In: Roisin Murphy for Viktor & Rolf
For her Overpowered tour in 2007, Roisin Murphy wore a Viktor & Rolf dress that came equipped with its own sound and lighting rig. Returning the favor, the now-preggers Irish electronic-pop star known for her Bjork-like sartorial extremes will perform live at the duo’s spring collection on Saturday in what amounts to a pre-concert of her upcoming CD.
Say Viktor & Rolf, “We are attracted and inspired by what we call mega-women: strong women who follow their own path and are uncompromisingly themselves. Roisin Murphy is a source of inspiration for us. We share with her the need for theatricality and performance in our work. Roisin personifies the power of transformation. Onstage she easily morphs into a beautifully fierce character, while offstage she is the counterpart of her theatrical self: soft-spoken, modest, even quiet.”
The entire show, including Roisin’s performance, will be available on the Viktor & Rolf website that same evening.
