Adding to its jam-packed roster of high-profile collaborators (Jean Paul Gaultier, Thierry Mugler, Givenchy, etc.), the Brazilian queen of jelly shoes, Melissa, is once again teaming up with Dame Vivienne Westwood for a line of deluxe gummy footwear. For the latest edition, they’re revisiting the venerable Westwood archives, resurrecting the infamous Rocking Horse Shoe from 1988. The original wooden (and somewhat purgatorial) version has been recast in soft tropical rubber and accented with wings, to transform it into a messenger of the gods, or at least a harbinger of comfortable strides. Featured in her spring ’10 collection, the jellies ($240) will hit Westwood boutiques in November, as well as Browns, Selfridges ans Harvey Nichols in London.
