The Montreal-based, avant-garde shoe salon Mona Moore has unveiled its first U.S. outpost right smack in the middle of Venice—providing Rachel Zoe with a glamorous new backdrop to stage another crisis. The converted former artist studio is a veritable museum of footwear, offering a carefully curated selection from the masters: Lanvin, Dries Van Noten and Pierre Hardy, as well as arty faves Ann Demeulemeester and Haider Ackermann. While holding true to its original ethos, the new location offers a few Tinseltown bells and whistles, including same-day courier service within the Los Angeles area and VIP house calls. Shoe fetishists turned out in droves for the opening-night soiree, hardly glancing at the drinks as they dived for best sellers like MA+ boots and Phi’s stiletto creepers from its recently launched shoe collection.
