La Mer-acle

The very nature of concealer implies the opposite of glamour. It’s only used in times of trouble, any glitziness in the product would render it pointless and, honestly, it’s kind of a bore to have to buy. But it’s the end of summer and we don’t need to know what you’ve been doing to know that stability and reliability are two things you could use a little bit more of right now. La Mer’s happy little cream-to-powder Radiant Concealer has a 25 SPF—useful, because it’s a rare concealer that doesn’t give you cake face when worn in the blazing sun. And like some kind of amazing smudge tool from the future (you know, when we’re all computer screens), it’s totally opaque with extreme blendability achieved with the most perfect little brush. It takes a few tries to master—you need a lot less than you think you do, which means this little compact will probably last longer than its shelf life—but once you get it you really won’t ever want to use anything else. And you can secretly feel better about frittering money away on something so practical because it also has light-capturing tourmaline and malachite. $65 at Saks and Bergdorf Goodman.
